A Chilean adventure sweepstakes—created by LAN Airlines, Marmot and Turismo Chile give travelers the chance to win a trip for two to Chile’s Aysén glaciers and Atacama Desert
Miami, FL — Visiting either the glaciers of Chile’s Aysén region, or the Atacama Desert could constitute the trip of a lifetime, but to visit both in one trip? Well, someone is going to be very lucky.
Whoever wins the Grand Prize of the “Go to Extremes” sweepstakes will fly on LAN Airlines from any city in the US to the Aysén Region of Chile, where s/he and a guest will explore the glaciers, fjords and towns aboard the expedition ship, Skorpios II. They’ll sail into Chile’s beautiful Laguna San Rafael National Park, and come face-to-face with the San Rafael Glacier.
From there, the winner and guest will jet up to northern Chile and the Atacama Desert, the driest in the world. Stretching for over 600 miles, the desert includes sections that have never seen rain in recorded history. Its innate harshness and inhospitable nature, however, make for some of the most spectacular scenery Mother Nature has to offer. Here they’ll bike, hike, swim (yes!) amidst Atacama’s geysers, volcanoes, salt flats and Andes Mountains scenery that is absolutely stunning.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, the winner and guest will be outfitted with appropriate adventure gear by Marmot.
