The National Tourism Awards of the Ministry of Tourism serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the Indian travel and tourism industry.

Ibex Expeditions was honoured by the President of India in New Delhi, on 29th February 2012 as the ‘Most Innovative Tour Operator’ of India.

Co-Founded in 1979 by Mountaineer, Explorer and Environmentalist, Mandip Singh Soin, the focus of Ibex Expeditions since inception has been of designing inspirational travel experiences for customers, moving beyond the ordinary to seeking new areas, avenues, ideas and life changing customized journeys, be they Adventure travel, Cultural holidays, Luxury trips, Eco tours & Safari travel.

Winning accolades are a benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the business of travel.

Some of the innovative travel ideas introduced by Ibex Expeditions in the last 33 years have been the first Camel crossing of the Thar Desert in 1987; the first Elephant expedition in 1990; pioneering winter tourism on the frozen river Zanskar in 1994; women’s tours in North and South India in 1996; humanitarian interventions in journeys since the late 1990’s culminating in Responsible Volunteering in village schools in 2010, which has earned Ibex this prestigious award.

Ibex Expeditions are the recipients of the PATA Discovery Award 1998, PATA Gold Award 1999, Green Globe Distinction Award 1999, WTM Environmental Company Award 2000 and the Award of Excellence, Ministry of Tourism 2001.

National Geographic has also selected them amongst the ‘Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth’. Ibex continues its exploration and search, enabling a continuous offer of rich experiences in India.
