Jackson Hole, WY - Mountain Khakis®, a leading mountain-inspired lifestyle apparel brand, is proud to announce the launch of their Men’s and Women’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection.

For Fall/Winter ‘12, Mountain Khakis introduces 22 new Men’s, 15 new Women’s, and 16 new Accessory styles including a 9-piece Canvas Bag Collection. This historically ‘hips-down’ brand continues to expand their Men’s and Women’s head-to-toe assortments of MountainTops, now including distinguishingly-svelte outerwear pieces, and a new, urban-style “Broadway Fit” in their best-selling bottoms.

“We have several ground-breaking talking points for MK in FW12”, said Martin Wilkinson, MK National Sales Manager. “Our new ‘Broadway Fit’, our down- and quilted polyfill-insulated outerwear pieces, new Waxed Canvas Field pieces, new Field Pant, new fine-wale stretch cords, our new lambswool and cashmere-blend sweaters… and not the least of which, our new Canvas Bag Collection. Together, it’s a tight assortment that supports the adventures of the rugged and stylish outdoors-person. In the words of our southeast rep group, ‘This brand is HOT HOT HOT!!!’”

For the design and development inspiration of their Fall/Winter ’12 line, the MK team set the stage with a 3-day design summit held in their Jackson Hole, Wyoming design studio. A collaborative process, the POP Studio team of John Moore (best known as the visionary behind the Hollister brand) & Mike Lohr were in attendance, as well as MK’s Director of Creative Development, Jen Taylor. Driven By Noah Robertson, Co-Founder and Director of Design & Product Development, and Ned Hutchinson, MK Product Manager, the team hammered out concepts and direction for MK’s avant-garde Fall/Winter ’12 collection.

“Colors, silhouettes and fabrications are truly MK, met with some ‘John Moore infusion’,” said Roberston. “It’s great for us to establish our design direction that is true to MK, then test it against John’s fashion insight. MK does not chase fashion and trend, but we are careful to stay germane to these patterns. Our style is mountain lifestyle, but relevant to all aspects of coastal, urban, western… MK relates to all sectors of Americana.”

According to Moore, “The emotional palette for Fall ’12 included phrases, ‘Crisp air and sunlit trails, Dropping temps and cooler skies, Autumn sunsets and changing leaves.’ Shoulder season in the mountains, a time of transition, preparing for BIG, preparing for winter. And the design filter for year continues as ‘style that happens to offer performance.’ Superior fabrications, new urban fit, signature details and savvy silhouettes all merge to create a succinctly-MK look, feel and function for the après-lifestyle.”

In FW12, MK uses superior fabrics with technical attributes. The heirloom-quality Men’s Waxed Canvas Field Jacket and Vest feature British Millerain Co® Ltd waxed canvas, a material and company whose heritage dates back to the 1880’s. The Men’s and Women’s DownTown and Quilted series outerwear pieces feature a highly technical super high-density nylon faille. The shell’s highly wind-resistant and DWR qualities combined with goose down and polyfill insulations make for superior mountain-lifestyle jackets. The Men’s and Women’s Peaks Flannel Shirts feature a unique Poly/Wool/Lycra-blend which boasts a buttery-soft, cotton-like hand, enhanced by the quick-dry, stretch and climate-control performance qualities inherent to the fabric’s properties.
