A regional approach to the travel experience in Latin America

Metropolitan Touring LogoDuring the last couple of years, Metropolitan Touring has been strengthening its capacities and abilities beyond Ecuador. The process involved the opening of new offices at the best sites along Latin America.  We are now happy to announce the beginning of our operation in Chile, by end-September 2009; the latest step in the company’s development in Latin America.

Our purpose is to provide our valued partners with the best services and expertise in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Peru; in combination with Metropolitan Touring’s constant search of new developments in travel exploration in each country, and an environmentally friendly operation.

Metropolitan Touring’s CEO, Mr. Roque Sevilla emphasized that this venture reaffirms the company’s commitment to provide clients with a Latin America one-stop shop solution, combined with the Destination Management expertise of specially trained hands-on local staff in each country.

Founded in 1953, Metropolitan Touring has offered unique customized experiences for travelers from all over the world for over fifty six years. The company is well-known and respected in the travel industry for its experience, dedication, commitment to quality, service and safety. Its expertise to assemble unrivalled travel experiences has made Metropolitan Touring the partner of choice for the travel specialists. Metropolitan Touring has been a pioneer in Galapagos Islands expeditions, where it operates its own fleet of vessels: first-class yachts LA PINTA and ISABELA and the MV SANTA CRUZ, as well as the Finch Bay Hotel on Santa Cruz Island.

This new venture is accomplished in partnership with explora, a specialist in experiential travel with its headquarter in Chile. Founded in 1989, explora encourages a new attitude towards travel for those who have a passion for discovering new places and new people, in remote and relatively unexplored regions in South America. explora offers lodge-based journeys in which an explora lodge is the central point for discovering the natural and cultural surroundings.  The travel company owns and operates three hotels – explora Atacama, Hotel de Larache, explora Patagonia, Hotel Salto Chico and explora Rapa Nui, Easter Island, Posada de Mike Rapu – together with four different Travesías, nomadic journeys through Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. Over the years, explora has built an international reputation for offering unrivalled standards of service, design and adventure in its programs.

Metropolitan Touring Chile will provide the best quality services for incoming tourism to Chile, and will be managed by Cristóbal Luna, former executive of LAN Airlines in Chile.  Unique programs, in an escape to the untamed nature of Chile, have been designed with those personal touches expected by today’s connoisseur travelers.

The official launch of Metropolitan Touring Chile will take place on September 24 in Puerto Varas, Chile, during TravelMart LatinAmerica.   For more information on Metropolitan Touring and explora please visit: and
