Two organizations help popular Chicago beach in advance of busy summer season

Skokie, Ill. Grand Trunk, the adventure travel gear company, recently partnered with The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics to clean North Avenue Beach in Chicago. The two organizations worked together with a group of volunteers to help prepare the popular and well-known beach for the busy summertime season. The effort was part of The Leave No Trace Center’s Backyard Sessions program, which travels across the country to teach locals how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.

“We’re excited that Leave No Trace decided to visit us in Chicago, and wanted to partner with the group to enhance one of our favorite hometown attractions,” said Kevin Kaiser, president and co-founder of Grand Trunk. “It was a successful day all around – the beach looked tremendous after the clean-up and Leave No Trace was able to provide some helpful onsite education to those interested in learning more about the organization and its mission.”
