Now celebrating their 11th year, the World Responsible Tourism Awards were founded in 2004 to celebrate and inspire change in the tourism industry by uncovering and sharing the stories of the most inspiring and enduring responsible tourism experiences. Organised by responsibletravel.com, they work with the World Travel Market, The International Centre for Responsible Tourism, and media partners including Metro UK, Travel Trade Gazette UK, Travel trade Gazette Mena, Travel Trade Gazette Nordic, and Selling Long Haul to celebrate and inspire change in the industry. The Awards are Headline Sponsored by the Oman Ministry of Tourism.

Fair Trade Tourism (FTT) is sponsoring the Best Short Film for Responsible Tourism category in the World Responsible Tourism Awards 2014. The Awards offer a chance for holidaymakers and the travel industry to honour the heroes and share the stories of the most exciting and enduring responsible tourism experiences in the world.

The Best Short Film for Responsible Tourism category is  a new category celebrating a short piece of film or documentary that encourages and inspires travellers to holiday responsibly.

This sponsorship provides FTT with international exposure for 12 months, culminating in the presentation of the award itself in November 2014.

Speaking about the Awards launch, Justin Francis, Managing Director of responsibletravel.com said; “It’s been 11 years now of uncovering the most inspiring, innovative and memorable responsible tourism experiences in the world, and we couldn’t have done it without our excellent network of sponsors and supporters. It’s exciting to work alongside those who share our commitment and dedication to recognising and celebrating changes in our industry.”
