Bend, OR - Call of the Wild Adventures, Inc. ("COTWA") is running a new yoga and hiking retreat in Yosemite National Park called "Yoga & Yosemite: A Journey in Transformation" from July 18-22, 2014.  The trip offers yoga, meditation, guided imagery, alongside with day hiking in the breathtaking high country of the High Sierra.

FoxNews.com featured the new trip in their article "Yoga stretches into off-the-beaten-path destinations" published on January 10, 2014.

Writer, Blane Blancard, reports that adventure travel companies are increasingly offering yoga as a primary activity in exotic locations - "At the same time, some tour operators that don’t specifically focus on yoga have expanded their offerings to include wellness-style trips."

Call of the Wild owner, Emilie Cortes, agrees that the demand from yoga enthusiasts has spurred her to develop the new trip combining the moving meditation of hiking with intentional practices like meditation and guided imagery.  She adds,  "We have found that a majestic setting like the world-famous Yosemite National Park really sets the stage for decompression and being present in the moment to get the most out of yoga and meditation."

Call of the Wild has partnered with one of their clients, Lisa Hecke of Sacred Harts, who is a yoga practitioner and experienced yoga retreat facilitator out of Arizona.  Ms. Cortes says that "We are excited about partnering with a former client who understands how we strive for an experience of empowerment and inspiration beyond just leading women around on hikes."
