Stowe, VT―After suspending its Egypt tour programs and offering full refunds to all 2011 Egypt passengers in February, award-winning Vermont-based adventure tour company Boundless Journeys has announced that as of March 24, 2011, they are resuming tour operations in Egypt. In addition to promising reports of the recent peaceful voting on a constitutional referendum, Boundless Journeys staff in Cairo and throughout the country are reporting that sites are open and running (with fewer crowds!), that there is a normal security presence, and that the general public mood is positive.
As one Cairo staffer put it: "We are doing well, in high spirits because Egypt is moving towards becoming a democracy... everyone is beginning to settle into the new promising pattern of life."
Boundless Journeys will continue to assess the situation on a regular basis to be certain that Egypt remains a safe and welcoming destination for their travelers. A more flexible cancellation policy is also being offered for their November 5-12 Egypt: Nile Exploration departure, which includes a 5-day Nile cruise aboard the 64-passenger luxury cruise ship, Nile Adventurer.
