Katt Hendershot

ATTA Community Intern

Katt grew up in Golden, Colorado, and now is a student at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado studying Human Dimensions of Natural Resources with minors in Conservation Biology and Diversity and Inclusion in Natural Resources. When Katt was 17, she got the opportunity to intern at an outdoor education school for elementary school students in her school district for a semester while she was in high school. There, she fell in love with getting others to care for the outdoors through experiences. She then attended a part-time vocational outdoor leadership program in her last year of high school. During these experiences, she started climbing and learning hard outdoor skills. Katt is passionate about her community. She works at the Colorado State University Rec Center both at the Climbing Wall where she works the front desk, teaches lessons, and sets routes, and at the Outdoor Gear Rental helping to lower the barrier of entry for students to get outside. She also works with REI Adventures as a guide teaching orienteering field classes. For extracurricular, Katt is a member of Alpha Sigma Kappa; Women in Technical Studies, and Xi Sigma Pi Forestry Honors Society. She is also the President and a founding member of the Colorado State University Alpine Club. Katt has always been passionate about travel but in October 2020, her father passed away unexpectedly. In his honor, she is trying to fulfill his dream of going to all seven continents. Katt got the opportunity to go to Antarctica in November 2021 with Nat Geo/Lindblad and Costa Rica in January 2022 with G Adventures. Having had life-changing experiences on both trips and a passion of stewardship through experiences from when she was interning at the outdoor education school, she fell in love with the adventure tourism industry. Katt is ecstatic be an intern at ATTA and learn more about all the members. She can't wait to build her career in the industry and travel more.
