atacamaAmity Tours has been invited to support the tourism product design and road mapping definition for the most important projects of Chile: the Qhapac Ñan (Atacama Inca Trail) and Scenic Highway Lakes & Volcanoes. This will be carried out through Amity’s sister company, Austral Design Lab.

  • The Qhapac Ñan, or Atacama Inca Trail, is the extension of the Inca Trail into Chilean territory. It passes through one of the most magical places in South America -- the Atacama Desert -- which is the driest place on earth.
  • The Lakes and Volcanoes Scenic Highway runs from the North to the South of the Lake & Volcano District, where the largest number of active volcanoes on the planet is concentrated.

As the only tour operator nationwide to participate in these major projects, this responsibility is of great importance as the result of this consultancy work will impact the strategic planning of Chilean authorities in coming years.

This project is funded by CORFO, which is a public entity that aims to improve the competitiveness and productive diversification of the country by encouraging investment, innovation and entrepreneurship. It also works to strengthen human capital and technological capabilities to achieve sustainable and territorially balanced development.
