Alternatif Outdoor, an independent family-run company based in south-west Turkey, specialises in adventurous outdoor activities: sea kayaking, rafting, canyoning, mountain-biking, hiking and multi-activity holidays in south-west Turkey (Marmaris - Koycegiz - Dalyan - Gocek - Fethiye area), as well as white-water rafting trips on the world-class Coruh River in north-east Turkey, and tailor-made outdoor activities for corporate groups.
Turkey is an ideal destination for travellers in search of active adventurous experiences but is still relatively unknown for activities such as sea kayaking, rafting and hiking. Thus it’s possible to explore amazing and unspoilt remote locations far removed from the tourist bustle, such as the beautiful cliffs and coves of the Turquoise coast, and the canyons, springs and highlands of the Taurus Mountains, all with a liberal sprinkling of unvisited ancient Roman, Greek and Lycian ruins.
Professional, friendly, and very experienced Alternatif Outdoor offers single-activity and multi-activity guided trips between 1 day and 1 week in length, with different routes suitable for a variety of abilities, from beginners to experienced adventurers. For independent groups planning self-guided trips we have sea kayaks, white water kayaks and mountain bikes available for rental, and we can arrange vehicle support if required.
In addition to our range of standard guided itineraries, we also specialise in tailor-made outdoor activity itineraries for private groups – just let us know your group’s requirements and preferences.
Accommodation options include camping, village home-stays, small pensions and boutique hotels. We work with locally-owned and operated providers of accommodation and other services, in order and to promote cultural exchange, and to ensure that local people share in the benefits of tourism.
Alternatif Outdoor’s founder Vedat Vural is one of the pioneers in outdoor sport in Turkey. He has over 30 years of experience as a mountain, raft and sea kayak guide, and is also certified by the International Rafting Federation as a class 5 raft guide instructor. He established the company in 1991 and we have been organizing a wide variety of outdoor activities ever since. Vedat continues to be actively involved in guiding our trips on a regular basis.
We give the highest priority to standards of safety and professionalism. Our guides speak Turkish and English, are all are qualified in first aid and a first aid kit is carried on each trip. Our equipment is state of the art, high quality and well-maintained.
