With a distinctive architecture, the Mirante do Gavião Hotel is the newest lodging option at the Rio Negro in the Amazon. Located in New Airão, just under 200 km from the capital Manaus, the hotel blends in harmoniously with nature. Built with hardwood and shaped to resemble an inverted boat, the structure does not go unnoticed and serves its proposal to combine art and nature conservation. The project was signed by Spanish architect Patricia O'Reilly, from O'Reilly office Atelier Architecture & Partners Sustainable Strategies.

The hotel was designed in a sustainable way to reduce environmental and social impacts. In addition to solar energy plates and wastewater treatment, social inclusion has a very great importance. There are accommodations adapted for guests with disabilities, valuing the comfort, functionality and safety.

The hotel offers seven accommodations surrounded by chestnut trees, tucumãzeiros and other native trees of the Amazon biome, and has a view facing the Anavilhanas National Park, one of the largest river archipelagos in the world. They fall into three categories. The tree house is suitable for families and groups of friends, it has two private accommodations and a unique viewpoint (with a privileged view of the sunset), with capacity for up to 6 people. The standard category includes three accommodations, ideal for up to 3 people, and the luxury category can accommodate up to 4 people and it has a hot tub, 12 special amenities and a large balcony.

The structure of the hotel includes a swimming pool with deck, gazebos, lounge with board games and television, hammocks, bar, massage services (by appointment) and a restaurant with a menu signed by São Paulo chef Deborah Shornik. The dishes are of international cuisine and use local ingredients.

Packages include a transfer from Manaus to New Airão, three meals, tours (with entrance fees) and tour guide. You can also hire only the "day use", where the visitor can use the leisure facilities (swimming pool, gazebo, inner tracks) during the day, or the day of hosting which includes transfer, accommodation, breakfast and use of recreational areas.

There are eight different tour options. Among them, a city tour in the city of Novo Airão, which can be done by bike and ends with the planting of a tree by the guest; a walk by the Eboké trail through the forest and a visit to the nursery of giant Pirarucu fish (which can weigh up to 200 kg); canoe trip along the Igarapé da Castanheira; and a speedboat out before breakfast to see the sunrise.

The stay at the Mirante do Gavião Hotel can also be combined with a boat espedition through the Rio Negro, with the company Katerre Expedition.
