Powering Sustainable Growth panel on May 19th

McLean, VA. - USA TODAY’s Veronica Stoddart will moderate a panel on Powering Sustainable Growth at the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Global Travel and Tourism summit in Las Vegas on May 19th. The panel will take place at 9:00 a.m. at The ARIA Resort & Casino. USA TODAY is an official media partner of the WTTC Global Travel and Tourism Summit which runs from May 17-19.

Travel and tourism has the power to drive sustainable global growth and to facilitate social, economic and cultural mobility as well as a great responsibility not only towards its customers, but also to the destinations in which it operates, to the people it employs and to the global environment. Stoddart’s panel will look to the future – what will travel & tourism be like in 2030 and what do we have to do to ensure our vision can be achieved?

Veronica Stoddart, Deputy Managing Editor/Travel for USA TODAY, will moderate a two-part panel. The first session will focus on aviation and panelists will include: Alexander Pleshakov, CEO, Transaero; Gary Chapman, CEO, President Group Services & Dnata, Emirates Group; Jim Compton, Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer, United Continental Holdings; Randy Tinseth, Vice President Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes; and Yoichi Minami, Executive Director, East Japan Railway Company. The second session will focus on hotels and destinations and panelists will include: Jabu Mabuza, CEO, Tsogo Sun Group; Costas Christ, Chairman of Judges, WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow Awards; Tom Klein, President, Sabre Holdings; Andrew McEvoy, Managing Director, Tourism Australia and Peter Seligmann, Chairman & CEO, Conservation International.
