(SEATTLE) – AUGUST 10, 2006 -- Summit Connections, the Networking Schedule Planner of the 2006 Adventure Travel World Summit, today launched to facilitate networking solutions for registered delegates, speakers, advisors, sponsors and exhibitors of the fall, trade-only conference.

Summit Connections is provided exclusively as a complimentary service to all adventure travel professionals registered to attend the October 19-21 Adventure Travel World Summit in Seattle.

Designed specifically for Summit delegates, the secure online networking solution allows attendees to make connections with important industry counterparts before, during and after the event by accessing a private online community.  The networking tool allows people to get acquainted ahead of the trade-only gathering and to set times to meet in person at the Summit.  Summit Connections remains active for several months after the Summit, allowing delegates to stay connected with their new acquaintances.

Adventure Travel World Summit attendees may log into the Summit Connections system using a personalized, pre-made account. Users are asked to spend five minutes completing their profile in a few short steps that are customized based on event topics, Summit objectives, business goals and personal interests. Once the steps are complete, the Summit Connections system will match attendees that have commonalities. Users may then contact other attendees to exchange information and schedule meetings using Summit Connections introMail, the system’s internal, personalized messaging center.

“With more than 400 expected attendees and a full two day conference schedule, meeting the right people can be next to impossible,” said ATTA President Shannon Stowell.  “This solution is offered in direct response to attendees of last year’s Summit.  Rather than simply hoping to meet business contacts by chance, attendees may instead use the Summit Connections to gain insight into the conference audience to deliberately pinpoint – and network with - their most valuable connections.”

After completing their profiles, Summit delegates may access the online community to find multiple networking features including:

  • Pinpoint Map: Plots delegates as pins on a circular ‘similarity map’ and allows users to find other delegates with similar interests and needs.
  • Powerful Search: Searches by industry sub-sector, types of tours, years in industry, reason for coming to the Summit, and more, are available.
  • Internal Messenger: Send and receive messages using the built in messenger, preventing spamming and list-selling.
“Finally, the conference industry has created an effective online tool to facilitate pre- and post-conference networking,” said TravMedia.com Senior Vice President Mark O’Toole. “It’s impressive to witness the Adventure Travel Trade Association once again quickly adapt an outside-the-travel-industry solution, reshape it, and provide its key constituents within the adventure travel community with new ways to connect.”
