To our surprise at the end of 2012, Explorandes was awarded World's Leading Green Tour Operator by the World Travel Awards. On the 20th of July, during the Gala Ceremony for South and Central America, Explorandes was again awarded South America's Best Green Tour Operator 2013. This time we were present at the ceremony and received the Award.
This award helps us maintain awareness and recognizes our leadership in the field of environmental and social responsibility, taking care of our natural resources and culture. Explorandes owes the recognition to Alfredo Ferreyros, founder of Explorandes, for being the pioneer and leader of this initiative, who's constant and continued efforts have motivated, since the years when ecotourism and sustainability were unused terms, to convert adventure travel into experiential tourism and a socially and environmentally sustainable activity. As team members of Explorandes, we are a united force and are committed to follow the established process by continuing to operate with the highest standards of socio-cultural and environmental responsibility. We will continue motivating our suppliers, coworkers, colleagues, and sub-contracted companies, to keep on acting in a responsible and "green" way.
