Incline Village, NV – Experiential tour operator Myths and Mountains is proud to announce that Founder and President Dr. Antonia (Toni) Neubauer has been recognized as Condé Nast Traveler’s Top Travel Specialist for Nepal in 2013. This honor establishes Neubauer as not only the premiere travel specialist for the country of Nepal, but as one of the top travel professionals in the world. This is Dr. Neubauer’s fourth Top Travel Specialist award from Condé Nast Traveler.

“To be recognized by a magazine with the stature of Condé Nast Traveler is an honor indeed, one that accrues not just to me, but to everyone at Myths and Mountains and to our wonderful people in Nepal,” said Dr. Neubauer. “Because our entire organization does such a consistently exceptional job, all of us are the ultimate recipients of this award.”

Antonia Neubauer has spent more than 30 years of her life traveling all over Nepal. She is fluent in the Nepali language and has planned and coordinated events there ranging from documentaries to weddings. Her life-changing experiences in the Himalayas inspired her to found Rural Education and Development (READ Global) in Nepal in 1991 as the non-profit arm of Myths and Mountains. Now an independent 501c3 organization based in San Francisco, READ builds Community Library Resource Centers, seeds local businesses to fully sustain and support the centers, and links them with organizations providing literacy, health/HIV, microcredit, women's empowerment and other needed services in rural communities across Nepal, Bhutan and India. The organization has built approximately 50 centers in Nepal, serving more than a million people.
