Editor's Note: Occasionally, an industry story runs across the desks at the ATTA that we believe warrants sharing with AdventureTravelNews.com readers. What follows is an unsolicited letter (email) from an ATTA Member writing to alert us about the performance of another ATTA Member. It's a moving letter, one that serves as testimony to the community we're building here together - one that adheres to the principles of good business, best practices and sharing. With thanks to Ana and her team for sharing.

Dear Paula,

I am writing to ATTA, as I want to share with the Adventure Travel Community
my outstanding opinion of the Peruvian Adventure Travel Operator, Mountain
Lodges of Peru
.

During the month of November 2010 I organized a tailor made trip for a client
of mine that included part of the MLP's Lodge to Lodge Ride combined with
visiting other sites near Cusco and Puno. On one of these days, after the
horseback riding part of the trip had ended, the only day that included some
bike trails - by special request of travellers - one of them fell. This event
lead to surgery and close to 15 days in an ICU unit with subsequent
stabilizing at a clinic in Lima, before the injured traveller could finally
return home.

I have to say that the level of professionalism and exceptional customer
service in such an event from a fellow ATTA member is nothing short of
encouraging and something we should all strive to resemble in our own
companies.

As an adventure travel guide and operator myself, as well as agent for
adventure travel in South America; the importance of working with
professionals which are highly trained and experts in their field is
paramount.

My client is back home, recovering and has returned to the gym this week.
This is what she wrote:

"...Was so, so appreciative of the good care and attention I got while in
hospital in Peru.  MLP were fantastic, they went above and beyond and all the
doctors, nurses, etc., were so wonderful - was lucky to get such great care
while in a helpless position...."
Ms. J.U. DEC 06, 2010

Thank you MLP, thanks to the whole team!
