Mirantes Mototravel is a privately owned motorcycle tour operator, based in Volta Redonda – Rio de Janeiro State – Brazil. Our goal is, to take our clients on a Dual sdiscovery expedition, not only visiting a number of traditional touristic locations, but also showing them the “real” Brazil, that reveals itself, once you leave the touristic places and the big cities behind and venture into the more remote areas, where the natural, historical and cultural beauty in combination with the hospitality and friendliness of the local people will forever change ones way to see Brazil.

Currently, we offer three tours across the South-east and the North-east regions of Brazil.

  1. An 8 day tour covering most of the state of Rio de Janeiro and small parts of the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. This tour is a great way to get a first taste of Brazil. Anyone looking for fun, sun, good rides, interesting culture, great food and a lot of mountain and coastal scenery will definitely find this an unforgettable adventure. We will travel through mountain ranges, national parks, Atlantic rainforest and see most of the marvelous coastline of the state of Rio de Janeiro. We will pass through many charming small rural villages, and visit a few historically important cities…
  2. A 10 day expedition, retracing the 17th century gold and diamond routes and the many historical cities in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais. Whether on sand, asphalt or gravel, adventure is always guaranteed on the Estrada Real. Every road taken, offers new discoveries. Small colonial villages, with their typical colorful churches, waterfalls, mountains, caves and rivers make up one of the most important cultural and natural heritages on the planet. Traveling through this region offers an opportunity to relive the experiences of the ancient pioneers, the drovers, the officers and other travelers that once roamed these parts…
  3. A 14 day journey into the heart of the states of Bahia and Minas Gerais. We start off following the coast to the north crossing the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo. Then we enter the state of Bahia, still following the coast further north, coming across many small fishing communities and some of the most famous surfing spots of Brazil. We leave the coast behind and head inland to visit Bahia's most famous national park, the Chapada Diamantina, also known by some as Brazil's lost world. After exploring the park, we head back south, to the state of Minas Gerais, and follow the Jequitinhonha River all the way up to Diamantina, from where we take the historic route southbound to Rio de Janeiro, via some of the most important historical cities in Brazil.
Geographic Reach/Areas of Operation
We currently operate primarily in the South-east and north-east regions of Brazil, but are looking into expanding our activities to the South region and the Pantanal.
We would like to connect especially with agencies that are interested in selling our tours to their customers, and also with operators of outdoors activities (rafting, kayak, rappel…) in the areas we will ride through, since we would like to include some of these activities in our tours.
