kevin-kaiser-jon-neffSkokie, Ill. – Grand Trunk, makers of goods for the road less traveled, is honored to have earned position 2597 on the 2015 Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America.

Grand Trunk has grown 142-percent over the past three years thanks to excellent customer service, thoughtfully designed products, and sharp focus on emerging market trends. Adventure tourism is the fastest growing sector in the entire tourism industry, and the Global Report on Adventure Tourism values the adventure travel sector at $263 billion (2013 study).

Since 2002, Grand Trunk specializes in goods and accessories designed to make travel and outdoor recreation more convenient and enjoyable. Co-founders Kevin Kaiser and Jon Neff met during a backpacking trip in Thailand, and their shared adventures during those months of travel sparked a lifelong friendship. It also brought to market a lightweight, packable hammock the friends found indispensible in the jungle.

Founded as ‘The Travel Hammock’, the duo immediately saw greater potential to build a brand dedicated to the adventure travel and outdoor lifestyle. Named for the Grand Trunk Road, an ancient route that made trade and travel possible for people to exchange goods and ideas, the brand has since evolved into a renowned line of hammocks, shelters and ‘goods for the road.’ All Grand Trunk hammocks, shelters and travel accessories feature premium fabrics, design and construction techniques based on the brand’s firsthand experience traveling around the world.

The latest addition to the Grand Trunk line-up, the ATOM collection targets "flashpackers", executive travelers and aims to support the abundant growth in the adventure travel industry. The ATOM collection is a line of waterproof, modular travel solutions designed for adventure travellers that include compression pack cubes, wallets, ID and passport holders, and toiletry bags.

“We are thrilled to be among the companies on this prestigious list,” says Jon Neff Grand Trunk Co-Founder. “We never dreamed our adventures would lead to such success, and we are honored that today our products are sought after by countless travelers and adventurers around the world.”

“It has been an incredible journey watching the brand evolve over the years,” adds Kevin Kaiser, Grand Trunk Co-Founder. “We have an amazing team of adventure travel experts in place, and that authenticity and enthusiasm is truly what sets us apart.”

As an Inc. 5000 honoree, Grand Trunk now shares a pedigree with Zappos, GoPro, Timberland, Clif Bar, Patagonia, Fitbit, and other notable alumni. Honorees are awarded based on percentage revenue growth and only privately held, independent companies are eligible.
