Leading adventure travel company launches new blog

Toronto, CANADA - Gap Adventures, the adventure travel leader, teams up with the world’s most influential travel bloggers in an exclusive program dubbed “Wanderers in Residence,” and launches a new blog, www.gapadventures.com/blog/wanderers-in-residence/, to support the initiative.

“We’re excited to expand our family to include the Wanderers – a group of travellers who truly represent and embody the spirit of travel. They are real people who share our passion for life-changing, enriching travel experiences,” says Bruce Poon Tip, founder of Gap Adventures. “Together, we hope to inspire people and promote travel from all corners of the planet.”

“With employees all over the world, social media allows us to remain connected as a company. The Wanderers in Residence program is a way for us to engage and create meaningful, relevant conversations with the wider travel community,” adds Poon Tip.

As ambassadors of the travel company who have been globetrotting for a combined period of over 15 years in more than 350 countries, the industry-leading bloggers will embark on various Gap Adventures trips and provide ideas and feedback on the tours. Stories, photographs, videos and experiences from the road, along with travel tips, expertise and advice, will be shared on the new Wanderers in Residence blog, in addition to their own online communities of more than 242,800 followers.

Furthermore, the Wanderers will attend travel and tourism events with Gap Adventures, and represent and speak on behalf of the company at various conferences worldwide to help amplify the travel conversation.

“I’m proud to announce my association with Gap Adventures as one of the first members in the Wanderers in Residence program. It was a natural fit. We share the same appetite and passion for adventure travel,” says Gary Arndt, creator of Everything Everywhere – one of Time Magazine’s Top 25 Best Blogs of 2010. “Plus they are entrepreneurial, very forward thinking with their use of the Internet, and have a great corporate culture.”

"We’re excited to be working with a company that shares our approach of using travel as a tool for learning, growth and making human connections,” says Daniel Noll and Audrey Scott of the around-the-world travel blog Uncornered Market. Daniel and Audrey left their desk jobs and sold their belongings almost five years ago to pursue their dream of travelling the world. “When we travelled with Gap Adventures in Antarctica last year, a few things stood out: their dedication to sustainability and the environment, passion across the board, focus on education and learning, flexibility to adjust when needed, and entrepreneurial spirit."
