First-of-its-kind Thai sailing adventure receives top honor

G Adventures’ Thai Sailing Adventure – Koh Samui to Koh Samui has been selected as one of National Geographic Traveler magazine’s 50 Tours of a Lifetime for 2012.  This is the thirteenth time the tour operator has been recognized by the magazine.

“It’s a huge honor to be included on this list again. There’s no doubt that this award echoes our commitment to offering innovative, life-changing travel experiences,” says Bruce Poon Tip, G Adventures’ founder.

On the seven-day tour, travelers access remote islands aboard an eight-passenger catamaran, snorkel in beautiful calm waters, wander quiet beaches, indulge in delicious Thai cuisine, and explore Koh Ang Thong National Park.

As part of the magazine’s mission to propel readers out of their armchairs and into the field, National Geographic Traveler magazine has been surfacing the best tours and outfitters for travellers for many years.  This year’s 50 adventures were culled from thousands of tours worldwide.

“The selection process was competitive and our editorial team worked long and hard to find 2012’s most authentic, most innovative, most immersive, best-guided, and most sustainable tours,” says Norie Quintos, the magazine’s executive editor. “Our theme this year was transformation. The outfitters we selected are experts at creating trips that have the power to change lives—the lives of the traveller as well as the residents of the destinations.”

G Adventures’ Thai Sailing Adventure – Koh Samui to Koh Samui will be featured in the May 2012 issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine.
