Bruce Poon Tip, founder of the leading small-group adventure travel company G Adventures, has been named an inductee in the Social Venture Network (SVN) Hall of Fame in the Workplace Champions category.

Since 1987, SVN has been at the forefront of the socially responsible business movement, connecting, leveraging, and promoting a world-class community of more than 500 innovative entrepreneurs working to change the way the world does business and the way that business affects the world.

“It’s an honor to be recognized with an award that pays tribute to best performances in transforming the way the world does business,” says Poon Tip.  “One of our fundamental principles at G Adventures is to change the lives of anyone who comes into contact with our company – including employees.”

Unique to G Adventures is their Culture Club, an internal department led by an elected mayor, dedicated to fostering positive corporate culture, and promoting the company’s core values to its global staff.

“Our business model isn’t about bottom-lines and turnover. It’s about happiness, freedom and independence,” adds Poon Tip.  “We celebrate individuality, champion diversity and inspire innovation.”

“A Workplace Champion is an innovative, values-driven leader who is extremely skilled in creating healthy, collaborative and meaningful work environments,” defines Deb Nelson, SVN’s Executive Director. “Successful companies are the result of positive company cultures, and Bruce artfully motivates and engages his employees.”

There are five categories of inductees.  A panel of 20 judges representing corporate peers, industry experts, and business and organizational leaders rigorously vetted every award winner. All honorees will be presented with an award at a ceremony in New York on November 13, 2012.
