SEATTLE –  Productive peer-to-peer networking and community collaboration serves as the driving force behind increased participation in the Adventure Travel Trade Association’s (ATTA) Association Partnership Program, which today announced the addition of five new members, including the first tourism organization from China to join the global networking initiative.

With the addition of these organizations the total Association Partner (AP) network has risen to 29 associations on six continents, expanding its geographic reach and areas of adventure expertise.  The newly added associations include: The Ontario Ecotourism Society, The Guild of Travel and Tourism (Hong Kong), Active Travel Latin American Specialists (ATLAS), International Galapagos Tour Operators Association (IGTOA), and the African Paddling Association (APA).

With the newest member additions, these alliances will help expand marketing networks between North America and European organizations with those in Asia, Africa, and South America.

"This partnership has catapulted our regional organization onto the global adventure travel stage,” said Scott Adams, director of the Ontario Ecotourism Society. “To stay current and spawn innovation, our members need to know what is happening in East Africa, to hear about the latest travel trends in South America, or to read about the changing media landscape. We cannot alone provide that to our members, but the ATTA can, and that is one of the keys to business survival in today's connected world.”

Representing thousands of individual organizations including tour operators, destination marketing organizations, tourism boards, guides, accommodation, media and service providers, the ATTA’s AP program helps tourism professionals to better network and improve cooperation within the specialized adventure sector of the travel and leisure industry. The AP also improves intelligence gathering and sharing on critical matters such as sustainable tourism, education, trends and research, online marketing, risk management and matters critical to raising the quality and professionalism of the industry as a whole.
