Seattle, WAExpeditionTrips, a West Seattle-based expedition travel company, presented a donation yesterday to the West Seattle Food Bank for $1,250 after meeting their Charity Challenge goal! ExpeditionTrips’ Founder and President, Ashton Palmer, and Travel Coordinator, Jennifer Santoyo met with Fran Yeatts, Executive Director of the West Seattle Food Bank, who was delighted to receive the donation and emphasized how important local community involvement is to the success of their services. The food bank has seen a steady increase of families in need in recent years and currently serves 2,500 requests for food and other services each month.

What’s the ExpeditionTrips Charity Challenge? On January 1st 2012, ExpeditionTrips challenged our 15-person team to make a commitment to personal health and wellness while also bringing a positive impact to the community. The challenge was to log 5,000 miles over the course of the year via activities like walking, running, swimming, biking, etc. The goal was reached before the end of the year and we were thrilled to be able to contribute to a terrific cause!
