Cultural Presentations and a Delegation of Travel Suppliers Will Participate

NEW YORK – Ecuador’s Ministry of Tourism will be promoting the country’s new tourism products and developments in its four regions – Galapagos Islands, Pacific Coast, Andes and Amazon, to U.S. and Canadian tourism professionals during the winter of 2011 as part of its ongoing campaign aimed to increase tourism to the country. Delegates from the country, including tour operators, hoteliers and destination representatives, will be on hand with representatives from the Ministry and an array of cultural performers, including dancers, singers and chefs, to present Ecuador’s varied tourism offerings during the following conferences.

LA CUMBRE (Las Vegas,  Sept. 7 -  9, 2011)

Ecuador’s Ministry of Tourism will participate in La Cumbre with an island booth and six co-exhibitors including the following tour operators: Klein Tours, Enchanted Expeditions, Latin Trails, Creter Tours and L’Alianxa Tecnoviajes. Thursday, September 8th at 9:00 a.m. Ecuador will hold a destination presentation in the Casanova Ballroom and attendees will also be treated to a special dance performance of Ecuadorean artists. Ecuador will be located at booth number 529.

THE TRADE SHOW (Las Vegas, Sept. 11-13, 2011)

Carapacho Tours, Enchanted Expeditions, Latin Trails, Creter Tours and L’Alianxa  Tecnoviajes will be joining Ecuador’s Ministry of Tourism at ASTA's Travel Retailing & Destination Expo to meet with leading travel executives from North America. Participants will also be taking part in seminars and round tables to learn about the latest trends in today's travel agency industry. On Tuesday, September 13, the Ministry will be presenting the country’s latest industry news followed by a special cultural presentation scheduled to take place from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm in room B255. Look for Ecuador at booth 505.

TRAVELMART LATINAMERICA (Santa Catarina,  Brazil, Sept 11-13, 2011)

Ecuador’s Ministry of Tourism will be joined by Quito Turismo, the city of Cuenca and Ecuador’s Trains in the county’s pavilion where delegates will be holding meetings with wholesalers, tour operators, airlines representatives and media in attendance at the show.

ADVENTURE TRAVEL WORLD SUMMIT (Chiapas, Mexico, October 17-20, 2011)

As a destination rich with adventure opportunities, Ecuador will have a strong presence in this year’s Adventure Travel World Summit where participants will be treated to a special luncheon prepared by Ecuadorean chefs on Thursday, October 20. Culinary offerings are a big part of Ecuador’s adventure, eco-tourism, and cultural attractions and often include samples of Ecuador’s world-class chocolate, fresh seafood, exotic fruits and contemporary cuisine. A group of Ecuadorian performance artists will also entertain delegates with a cultural presentation to showcase a glimpse of the country’s diverse cultural offerings.

USTOA (Marco Island, FL, Dec. 11-13, 2011)

Ecuador will wrap up the year by participating at USTOA’s Annual Conference & Marketplace. Participating tour operators will be greeted with Ecuadorean roses and the country’s “Love Life” brand will sail across Marco Island’s ports.  On December 10th Ecuadorean chefs will delight Active Members with Ecuadorian cuisine during a special dinner while a special presentation will offer a glimpse into Ecuador’s colorful culture and traditions. A delegation of member tour operators will also be traveling from Ecuador to meet with USTOA tour operator members.
