This is in keeping with its overall corporate responsibility in making a difference through small and more significant initiatives in reducing its global footprint. The World Environment Day that took place on June 5, 2015 provided Centara with an opportunity to highlight its initiatives and display special activities as a way of celebrating the importance of environmental responsibility within the hotel industry.

All the staff was involved in helping to put in place creative activities that would raise awareness and demonstrate how Centara is a leader in environmental responsibility. For example, Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok rewarded guests of their Chatuchak Café restaurant with a 20% discount for those who did not waste any food. At Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya, the team had a costume contest for the best costume made out of recycled materials.
