The award-winning sustainable travel company Adventure Life just announced a unique video contest open to all travelers that will award the winner with a Bahamas sailing trip for two aboard the 24-passenger yacht, Liberty Clipper. Contestants must upload their best travel videos to Adventure Life’s website by September 30, 2012. Whether a 30 second spot or 5 minute masterpiece, the travel videos should be engaging and capture the essence of a destination. “Over the years we've experimented with photo album and journal contests to help travelers share their experiences in exotic locales, but now we are trying to determine if video can be a more effective way to convey the essence of adventure,” said Adventure Life General Manager Jonathan Brunger. “Travelers want to get a taste of what they will see and do in a destination before they decide to invest in a trip, and watching the videos of fellow travelers is the perfect way to gain an accurate perspective.”
The prize for wining this contest, an intimate six-day Bahamas voyage aboard the Liberty Clipper, includes sea kayaking and snorkeling the Bahamas’ most beautiful reefs, relaxing on white sand beaches, and soaking up the laid back atmosphere of the Caribbean. The Liberty Clipper will visit Abaco Island, The Berry Islands, Andros Island, and Eleuthera Island.
"This is the first time we've opened up a contest to non-Adventure Life travelers,” said Brunger. “But we are confident that encouraging people to travel and share their experiences through a video contest is a good thing for the adventure travel industry as a whole.”
While Adventure Life’s video contest is open to all travelers, the videos need to occur in destinations where Adventure Life offers tours and must not exceed 10 minutes. The deadline for video submissions is Sept. 30, 2012, and the winner will be notified no later than Oct. 15, 2012.
